State sepak team to train in Imphal

Guwahati, Nov. 30: As part of its final phase of contingent preparation for the 33rd National Games, the Assam Sepak Takraw Association will send the state’s men and women probables for a 20-day exposure-cum-coaching tour to Imphal on Friday.

The squad: (Men) Soumin Chandra Sinha, Tonsing Sinha, Manikanta Sinha, Rajen Sinha, Ranjan Sinha, Premjit Sinha, Debanand Sinha, Sunil Sinha, Ratan K. Sinha, Debajit Subba, Shivprasad Kachari, Amit K. Sinha, Bikram Sinha, Priyabiplob Sinha, Bipul Roy, Vishnunath Sinha, Luhit Roy, Kulajit Sinha, Irabanta Sinha, Thairing Dau Hojai.

(Women) Ibeton Sinha, Padmini Sinha, Bidhumukhi Sinha, Laxmitombi Sinha, Thoinu Chanu, Ramina Sinha, Malti Sinha, Babita Sinha, Bobita Sinha, Risha Mishra, Haripriya Sinha, Sunita Sinha, Shyamlini Devi, Bharti Sinha, Rajni Sinha, Shyamlata Sinha, Ranjita Sinha, Bindarani Sinha, Rupali Das and Lipika Sinha.

Ojha cricket meet

Ankurjyoti Club will host the 15th edition of the Kamala Kanta Ojha invitation prize-money cricket meet at Latasil ground here from December 5.

At least 20 teams will participate in the meet.

Club general secretary Himadri Pathak said the meet will have all leading outfits of the city, including last year’s champions Bud Cricket Club and runners-up Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre, and at least two outstation teams.

He said the club was in touch with Imphal’s Cyclone XI, who participated last year, and Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.
