Dimapur: The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has gone hi-tech with the opening of its online trade licence payment gateway.

Launching the project at the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School conference hall here on Monday, adviser to the power department, Tovihoto Ayemi, said the move had fulfilled a long-felt need of the state's business community.

Ayemi, a former chairman of the council, said the project would help traders save time and energy. He gave credit to DMC chief executive officer Moa Sangtam for the project.

The DMC, in association with SymBios, launched the online application for traders to pay trade licence fees and apply for new trade licence.

Referring to the Swachh Survekshan 2018 report, which lists Nagaland as the third dirtiest state in the country, Ayemi said this should be an eye-opener for the people. He, however, said they should not be discouraged and appealed to organisations for a clean Dimapur. Later, he inaugurated the DMC's dumping-free zone project outside Ram Krishna Mission at Duncan Basti here.
