The committee on welfare of Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes of the Meghalaya Assembly has asked the state government to write to Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura and Assam to recognise Khasi, Jaintia and Garo as Scheduled Tribes in their states.
As there is no OBC list in Meghalaya, the commi-ttee has asked the government to identify the communities which would fall into that category.
