Guwahati, April 28: Manipur stormed into the final of the sixth Dr T Ao Football Championship thrashing Nagaland 5-1 in the first semi-final at Indira Gandhi Stadium in Sarusajai Sports Complex here today.

It didn't take long for Manipur to surge, as L. Fernando Singh made no mistake in placing the ball into the net through the flick of his head in the sixth minute. Having received a freekick from just outside the box, Ch. Anand Kumar Singh's well-elevated set piece provided Fernando the perfect setting to find the back of the net.

Despite some desperate attempts by Nagaland, the side failed to find their desired result until the 41st minute when Imtiwapang headed the ball into the net.

After the lemon break, Manipur showed their dominance yet again with two early goals. Manipur player Seikhohao Tuboi scored in the 49th minute, followed by Roshan Meitei in the 57th minute.

To make things even worse for Nagaland, N. Pritam Singh's full-blooded strike found the net in the 84th minute.

Tuboi scored again sealing the fifth goal for his side.
