Imphal West pip DSA Kakching

Imphal West District Football Association claimed the champion's title, beating DSA Kakching 9-1 in the 16th Junior Girls' Inter District Football Association, 2016, played at artificial turf, Khuman Lampak.

JUNIOR GIRLS' FOOTBALL

Imphal, June 13: Imphal West District Football Association claimed the champion's title, beating DSA Kakching 9-1 in the 16th Junior Girls' Inter District Football Association, 2016, played at artificial turf, Khuman Lampak.

The three-team league meet saw Imphal West rout Imphal East District Football Association 7-2.

In their second match, they showed no mercy to the DSA Kakching team as well with N. Ratanbala Devi scoring six goals while L. Amita scored two and L. Rikma Devi chipped in with one for the huge victory. The lone goal for DSA Kakching was fetched by Priyanka Devi.

Among the three teams, Imphal East District Football Association managed a victory against DSA Kakching by 5-2 goals while the latter faced humiliation without a win in the league.

Seven-a-side: YDCC Keirao Bitra drubbed SDC Samurou 4-0 to claim the champion's title of the first State-Level Seven-a-Side Football Tournament, 2016, played at Keirao Bitra, Imphal East.

The host team took advantage of the crowd as they dominated the game with L. Tarunkumar Singh and L. Jetlee Singh slamming home two goals each for the victory.
