Guwahati, April 9: Host City Cricket Coaching Centre’s (CCCC) “A” team entered the final of the fifth Golap Hazarika Memorial all-Assam inter-coaching centre under-13 cricket championship, defeating their “C” team in the first semi-final at Dispur Parade Ground here today.
Batting first, the CCCC “A” team compiled a modest total of 158, losing seven wickets in 25 overs. Titiman Dutta topscored with 33, while Rahul Hazarika contributed a breezy 24. Githartha Sarma and Ripunjoy Saloi shared two wickets each, giving away 20 and 25 runs respectively.
In reply, a strokeful half century by Konkon Deuri Bharali was not enough to anchor the CCCC “C” team’s run chase and they were all out for 120 runs with three balls to spare.
Ansal Saikia and Debajit Konwar got four wickets each, conceding 15 and 20 runs respectively.
CCCC “A” will now meet the winners of tomorrow’s second semi-final between NF Railway and Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre on Friday.
