Tezpur, July 2: Five more bodies were recovered from the landslide-hit Bhalukpong Tipi in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh today.

Altogether 10 people were killed and three injured in the landslide. Five bodies were recovered yesterday. The rescue operations ended at noon today, officials sources said.

Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Kalikho Pul has declared Rs 1 crore for immediate relief and rehabilitation in the landslide-affected area, West Kameng MLA Japu Deru told this correspondent over phone from Bhalukpong Tipi. The West Kameng district administration will get the funds by Monday, he added.

Deru said Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika from Sonitpur district of Assam, reached the spot today. A Sonitpur district administration team also visited the site. They said the situation was normal and rescue work had been completed.

The NDRF, CRPF, ITBP, Arunachal police and GREF were involved in the rescue operations this morning. The army stepped in after the district administration sought the army's help late last evening, , defence spokesperson of Tezpur 4 Corps, Sombit Ghosh, said.
