The EEDF ground near South City Mall was recently filled with the aroma of fish fry and biryani, kebabs and cupcakes at the three-day-long ABP Ananda Khaibaar Pass, partnered by The Telegraph. More than 20 food stalls set up by some of the best restaurants and snack stops from across Calcutta and the suburbs made it a one-stop treat for foodies. t2 brings you some sips and bites from the festival.

Not only did she dig in at the venue, she also packed quite a lot for home. Raima Das Chowdhury had a lovely time food-browsing at Khaibaar Pass. “I am taking the Mutton Combo from Raajbarir Khawa and Fish Fry from Mitra Cafe,” she said.
(L-R) Sisters Shristi and Sayanti Sarkar slurped on their Kulfi from Ghosh & Co. “We have tried quite a few things but the best has been Mutton Kabiraji from Mitra Cafe,” said Shristi.
Friends (l-r) Aditya Ghosh, Ekta Bagri, Kanishk Gomes and Mayank Dev Kumar couldn’t stop gorging on the Mutton Galawti Kebab, Roomali Roti and Awadhi Gosht Biryani from Oudh 1590. “We had plans of trying the emu speciality, but I think we are settling for this. Mitra Cafe is next on the list,” they said.
Rhitu De Sarkar with mom Mira De Sarkar by her side had a foodie fiesta at Khaibaar Pass. “We tried the Bhetki Paturi, Pulao and Golda Chingri from Raajbarir Khawa and it was all really yummy,” said 75-year-old Mira De Sarkar.
Dhrubaa Mukherjee, a food blogger based in USA, found Swati’s Flavour of Rasgullas “fascinating enough” to get it clicked, while her husband Debkumar De, a finance professional in USA, stood patiently holding the food. “We are in Calcutta for a vacation and it’s great to find something like this where we can try such a variety at one place. We have come across many new food options here. We tried Mrs. Magpie, Bijoli Grill, Bellagio and we are planning to explore some more,” said Dhrubaa.
Spicy and hot, a plate of Roasted Chilli Pork from Chowman for Rs 190 found many a hungry taker.
Move over chicken, mutton and pork... emu is here. The Emu Dry Fry, two pieces for Rs 100, served by Astabacra Agro Pvt Ltd, was a prize catch.
The mocktails at the Bodega Cantina-Y-Bar stall were very popular over the three days. The Bubbling Coconut Mojito for Rs 100 was an instant hit.
What’s a Bong adda without a generous dose of fish fry? The Bijoli Grill Fish Fry for Rs 140 was comfort food.
