District magistrate Sanjay Kumar Agarwal has convened a meeting with the management boards of all private schools on February 11 to review the facilities provided by the school to students.

Focus will be on the basic amenities to be provided by the school, said Agarwal. These include steps taken for disaster management, installation of close circuit television cameras, transport facility and parking of school buses.

"The meeting will stress on the recent order in which schools management have been asked to inform the parents through SMS if the school is closed," he said.

Career seminar

Sai Krupa Group of Institution on Thursday organised a news meet on a seminar on career orientation.

Head of soft skill and personality development Revati Aiyar, administrative head Sumne Mazumdar and senior marketing head Rishikesh addressed the meet.

Around 2,000 students from schools and colleges in Patna will take part in the event on February 6 at SK Memorial Hall. A band from Delhi will entertain the audience.

"The programme - Mann mein hai vishwas - aims to create self-confidence," said Revati.

Smart city slur

Urban development and housing department minister Maheshwar Hazari on Thursday accused the centre of step motherly treatment to Bihar in the Smart City scheme.

Speaking at a seminar on Smart City, organised by Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation, he said the Centre should include cities from Bihar in the second phase.

Amrit Lal Meena, secretary at the urban development department said the state government would submit the revised proposal for the inclusion of Bhagalpur in the Smart City scheme by April 15.
