The Langat Singh College principal has written to Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University vice-chancellor (VC), seeking an appointment to discuss the allotment of two teachers' quarters to the distance education department.

The students' agitation has adversely hit the academic environment of the college, the letter has claimed. But the VC has not responded to the letter.

The varsity's decision to hand over two teachers' quarters of LS College, an affiliated institution, to the distance education department has triggered tension.

While university VC Pandit Palande is adamant on implementing the decision, LS College principal Upendra Kunwar is resisting the move.

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council of UGC has awarded Grade A to the college and it is on the way to be declared an autonomous body. Hence, the college needs infrastructure and accommodation to open up more faculties and departments. It has also applied for college for potential excellence (CPE) tag.
