Patna: B.K. Thakur, the director of Holy Cross International School, who had lost his cool on Monday when questioned about the claim that some parents had given the school a clean chit, on Tuesday showed an injured arm and blamed rival schools for tarnishing the school's image.
When some journalists reached the school on Tuesday to find if it was open, Thakur told them some influential persons who run schools in Danapur area were planning to shut down his school. "I come from the lower caste," Thakur said. "Some influential persons who are from upper castes and run different schools in Patna, are working hard to shut down the school."
As a large number of people gathered outside the school, the police was alerted.
"When we reached the spot, we saw the director blaming different schools in Danapur area for hatching a conspiracy to defame his institution," Danapur police station house officer (SHO) Sandeep Kumar Singh said. "We tried to stop him from turning aggressive, as he has high blood pressure. He bore some injuries on his hand and claimed some persons, including journalists, who had come to the school on Monday had attacked him." He even said that local MLA Asha Sinha and Madhepura MP Rajesh Ranjan, better known as Pappu Yadav, had threatened to shut down his school.
Unlike on Monday, when he was wearing suit, on Tuesday the director wore a dhoti and had also tonsured his head, sources said. He also seemed less aggressive.
Parents who had assembled outside the school worried about the future of their wards should the school close down mid session. "Studies have been hit this past week," said Himanashu Narayan, a parent who had come to take his child away. "The police have arrested the sweeper and different agencies are probing. In the larger interest of students, academic activities here should not be disturbed."
