Students of St Xavier's Primary School wait to gorge on snacks at a stall set up on the campus on Wednesday. The institution organised a daylong fete on the premises to mark its foundation day and around 200 students turned up at the event. Students set up 25 and odd stalls where visitors had a range of products to choose from. Dishes from different cuisines, chocolates, apparel, beauty products and jewellery were up for grabs at the fair, promising the students, teachers and parents a gala time for the whole day. Sonal Kriti, a Class VIII student, was one of the enterprising youths who set up a food stall. She attracted visitors with delicious Chinese dishes. Some students had a ball trying to light up 10 candles with a single matchstick and strike all stumps with one ball. The teachers enjoyed the food, games and dance shows put up by the young ones. Competitions were also organised to encourage the students to prove their mettle in different fields. Text by Faryal Rumi, picture by Ranjeet Kumar Dey
