The 21st Patna Book Fair has something for everyone.
Close to 10 food stalls are on offer at the fair, leaving visitors spoilt for choice. From Mumbai’s favourite street food, pav bhaji, to Punjab’s sarson da saag, there’s a lot to choose from. With an aim to keep the book fair area clean, dustbins have been kept at each food stall. The workers are also using temporary gloves to serve food.
There are other attractions too.
“The best part about the fair is you can just sit with your friends somewhere and have fun. We are spending hours chatting,” said Kumar Pranav, a student of Patna University.
The field next to the stage has become the hangout zone for youths. Bibliophiles who can’t wait to get back home and devour their fresh-off-the-shelves buys are often spotted in the shade with a book in hand.
Among the other draws are career counselling stalls and a chance to get a sketch of yourself. College of Arts and Crafts, Patna, alumnus Nandan Kumar is doing brisk business for the past few days with his sketches. A small sketch from him costs Rs 50, while a bigger one is priced at Rs 100.
