Muzaffarpur May 29: Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University pro-vice-chancellor Padmasha Jha seems to have landed in big trouble.
A Grade IV employee of the university, Sadhana Devi, has accused Jha of allegedly beating her up on Saturday night.
Sadhana is deputed at the residence of Jha for cooking. Devi told The Telegraph that she was beaten in the presence of Jha’s family members and five other people for no fault of hers.
According to sources, Sadhana has suffered bruises on her back and was rushed to a private nursing home for treatment.
Sadhna has also lodged a complaint with the University police station in this connection today.
Sadhana, in her petition, said that Jha hurled invectives at her and threatened to eliminate her.
Devi said she ran away from Jha’s residence following the incident. Sadhana said she feared for her life and sought protection from the police.
Sadhana also met the Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University vice-chancellor (VC), Rajendra Mishra, and sought his intervention.
The vice-chancellor assured that he would take notice of the incident.
When contacted, Jha said: “Sadhana has hatched a conspiracy to defame me. I have not used force against her. I am engaged in checking the attendances of Grade IV employees who remain absent most of the time.”
He added: “Some of the university officials have conspired to defame me. The allegations levelled by Sadhana are baseless.”
Fateh Bahadur Singh, the general secretary of Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University Employees’ Association, said the varsity would be closed for an indefinite period from tomorrow.
He added that the employees would agitate in front of the vice-chancellor’s residence demanding action against Jha.
