The New Year will also see the coming up of another mall in Howrah. Forum Rangoli, that has been under construction for quite a while, is in its last leg of completion. The mall is scheduled to be opened in June-July of 2015. While south Howrah residents boast of Avani Riverside mall, residents of north Howrah and Bally will now have Forum Rangoli to be proud of.

The 3.5 lakh square feet mall will have a number of attraction for visitors. A three-screen multiplex by Inox is coming up at Rangoli. The three auditoriums will be able to seat 950 visitors altogether. Some of the big names in retail like Spencer’s, Shoppers Stop and Reliance Trends will be the three major brands that will form the anchor stores of the mall. Max Lifestyle will also be there at Rangoli. Vanilla stores of brands that are seen in most Calcutta malls will be available at Rangoli as well.

Garment brands like Arrow, US Polo Association, Metro shoes and gift shops like Archies are some of the names that are doing the rounds at the new mall. Those who will be visiting the mall in their own vehicles, will find parking space in the basement that will accommodate 500 cars.

No shopping experience is complete without grub. The food court in Forum Rangoli will be spread over 12,000 square feet and will offer all kinds of cuisine to tingle the tastebuds. There will be Pizza Hut, KFC and Domino’s counters and there will some fine dining options as well. “We plan to have two to three fine dining options at the food court. But we have not decided as yet, which ones will come,” said Ujjal, the chief operating officer (COO) of Forum Rangoli.

Apart from these, a large playing area for children is also being planned inside the mall. While everyone is eagerly waiting for the completion of the second mall in Howrah, there is still some work to be done.

“The interiors are being done now and within the next few months, the retailers will be given possession of their space.Work on the exterior will start after that,” said Ujjal. With the opening of Forum Rangoli, the north-south divide in Howrah is set to go.
