Bhubaneswar, Sept. 26: Three big-budget Odia films will battle it out at the box office this Durga Puja.
Three popular stars of the film industry - Anubhav Mohanty, Arindam Roy and Babushan - will compete to grab the viewers' eyeballs during the festive season, considered a financially viable time for releasing films.
Directed by Sudhanshu Sahoo, Shiva Not Out starring Arindam and Archita as the lead cast is a love story.
Prem Anand has composed music for the movie that has been produced under the banner of Ratna Films, Arindam's home production.
Arindam, who plays the title role, said: "Shiva is a very strong character. It was challenging to play it, but I enjoyed it thoroughly."
Speaking on his stint as a producer, he said: "I had to work 24x7 because being both actor and producer is a lot of work. But it was one journey that I enjoyed."
This is the fourth film together for the Arindam and Archita duo that includes the hit Raja Jhia Sange Heigala Bhaba.
Tarang Cine Productions' Hero No. 1 featuring Babushan and Bhumika Dash is already winning the hearts of film-lovers.
Directed by Tapas Sargharia, the movie hit the theatres on September 23.
Babusan plays a lawyer for the first time in this movie, while Bhoomika is a journalist.
"The story of the film revolves around a man who gets torn between his dream of becoming an actor and his father's dream of seeing him become a lawyer. I hope the film will continue to rule the box office for the next few weeks," said Babushan.
The movie also features Mihir Das, Kuna Tripathy, Puspa Panda and Pintu Nanda.
Also in the competition with the younger actors is superstar Anubhav Mohanty in the Ramesh Rout directed flick Kabula Barabula.
Elina Samantray will be seen opposite the Balunga Toka actor who plays the role of a villager in the film.
"It's a story of an uneducated villager who doesn't know how to talk in English but situation compels him to go abroad for his love," said Rout.
"We have shot the film both in rural Odisha and international locations," said Anubhav.
The movie features other popular actors such as Harihar Mohapatra, Pappu Pom Pom and Pradyumna Lenka.
Sarita Routray, a college student, said: "The films have different stories and I am looking to catch them apart from pandal-hopping this Puja."
