Kingston: Misbah-ul Haq remained stranded on 99 as Pakistan were all out for 407 in their first innings at tea on Day IV of the first Test here at the Sabina Park.
The skipper couldn't get his 11th Test century, but rallied along with the lower order to frustrate the West Indies bowlers and stretch Pakistan's first-innings lead to 121 that gave the visitors an outside chance of winning this Test.
Number 11 batsman, Mohammed Abbas, gave Misbah pretty good support as he hung around for 21 deliveries, with the last-wicket pair getting 34 runs. But Roston Chase trapped Abbas leg-before wicket to deny Misbah a century.
Earlier, Pakistan took advantage of lapses in the field to reach 322 for five at lunch. Resuming at the overnight position of 201 for four and facing the threat of the second new ball, the visitors added another 121 runs for the loss of just one wicket with Sarfraz Ahmed leading the charge.
