Mumbai bounce back

Defending champions Mumbai came back strongly in the final of the CK Nayudu Trophy at the Eden Gardens on Saturday, dismissing Punjab for just 57 in their second innings. Rohan Raje starred with a five-wicket haul. Mumbai were 135 for four at the end of the day, needing 151 runs more to win

Paikpara lose

ABP Sports Club defeated Paikpara by seven wickets in the CAB league on Saturday. Ajay Das (62) was the top scorer for ABP.

Table tennis

Somnath Chakraborty, Nupur Santra, Arijit Ghatak and Avishek Ghosh reached the semi-finals of men’s singles in the 74th State Table Tennis Championship on Saturday.

TTFI cries foul

The Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) alleged through a press release on Saturday that some of the Bengal Table Tennis Association (BTTA) officials were indulging in unlawful and irregular activities by conducting “unregistered tournaments.” The BTTA officials could not be reached for comments.

ER win

Eastern Railway won the women’s title in the 28th Senior State Basketball Championship on Saturday. They defeated Barisa Assar. They also won the men’s title.
