Calcutta: Renowned tennis coach Bob Brett is in the city to organise a special tennis clinic for talented youngsters in the age group of 13 to 16.

Enrico Piperno, who has invited Bob to come to the city to work with his trust and in collaboration with the Ordnance Club and South Club said the Aussie will hold a camp from Wednesday to Sunday at the South Club. “Bob, an old friend of mine, will be associated with Enrico Piperno Tennis Trust and hopefully it will be a long tie-up,” the former Davis Cupper and coach said.

Brett is a legend in his own right, having coached the likes of Boris Becker, Goran Ivanisevic, Andrei Medvedev and Marin Cilic. Closer home, he had also coached Sania Mirza.

Top juniors from the city, including Nitin Sinha, Vikas Singh, Sanil Jagtiani and Parikshit Somani will take part in the camp. “About 24 kids will take part. There will be some participants coming from Sri Lanka also. The Tamil Nadu Tennis Association will also send some budding players,” Piperno said.

Top-ranked juniors from Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore will also be part of the camp.
