Rourkela, Nov. 21: Vice-chancellor of the Biju Patnaik University of Technology S.S. Patnaik today said the institute's initiative to give BTech degrees to the diploma holders was unique in the country.
"We are going to submit the details of the scheme to the Union human resources development ministry. Once it is approved, the ministry will ask other universities to replicate it," Patnaik said, while speaking at the function to celebrate the institute's 14th foundation day here today.
However, he also spoke about the "metamorphosis the university is going to witness in the coming days as far as course curriculum is concerned".

"I have strong admiration for this particular step being initiated by the university as this will help a lot of people with experience to get a bachelor degree in technology and the country will get quality manpower," he said.
