Bhubaneswar, Dec. 23: Principal chief commissioner of income tax Bijay Kumar Mishra today said the Odisha regional office would make all-out efforts to make the Pradhan Manti Garib Kalyan Deposit Scheme a success in the state.

Mishra said: "People having black money should get the benefit of the scheme. Supposing they have Rs 100 in black money, they can deposit 50 per cent of this as tax. The Rs 25 will go to the scheme and the rest they can keep for themselves."

He said an application for this kind of deposit under the scheme should have to be made in Form II indicating the amount, full name, permanent account number of the person making the deposit. "The declaration can be made by any person in respect of undisclosed income in the form of cash or deposits in an account with bank or post office or specified entity."

Mishra said the income declared under the scheme shall not be included in the total income of the declarant under the Income Tax Act for any assessment year. "The scheme will remain open up to March 31, 20117," he said.
