Cuttack, May 12: The demand for re-evaluation of matriculation answer copies gained momentum with several political parties and student organisations staging a protest in front of the Board of Secondary Education office here today.

The All-India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) and youth wing of the BJP staged a demonstration against faulty evaluation of the matriculation copies even though the board officials uploaded scanned copies of the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets.

Alleging that the marks in various subjective papers have not been revised, the organisation has demanded for re-evaluation of answer copies and republication of the matriculation results.

The board published revised marks following widespread protests over faulty evaluation in the newly introduced OMR sheets (objective) and subjective papers on May 10.

“There has been no change in the marks scored in various subjective papers, despite the revised marks being uploaded by the board officials,” said AIDSO secretary Bhagyarabi Das.

Das said many students had scored 45 to 50 marks in subjective papers, while they had been awarded marks ranging from 1 to 6 in OMR sheets.

“Such discrepancies in marks show the callous attitude of the board officials,” said state secretary of the BJP youth wing Sikandar Ali.

The party has demanded stern against the officials responsible for such dereliction in duty.
