Bhubaneswar: The state government on Monday effected a massive reshuffle in the police administration by transferring officers in the level of additional director general (ADG), inspector-general of police (IG), deputy inspector-general of police (DIG) and superintendent of police (SP). Significantly, the respective deputy commissioners of police of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack have been transferred. Bhubaneswar deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Himanshu Lal has been transferred and posted as SP, Rourkela while Cuttack DCP Amitendra Nath Sinha has been shifted as Puri SP. Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday launched the e-despatch system in order to facilitate better communication between people and the civic authorities, ensure inter-departmental coordination and faster inter-office co-ordination. he information technology project management unit (IT-PMU) of the BMC has already trained the staff how to use the process. Chairman of Neelanchal Gramya Bank D.K. Nanda inaugurated the programme and talked about the opportunities for employees of this bank. Ota on Monday disbursed Rs 3 lakh each to the next of the kin of eight persons of Gudupahi area village near Chandipur who were killed while trying to break an unexploded shell in 2002. Balangir: Former minister and Patnagarh MLA Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo, who was facing charges of manhandling a government engineer, appeared in court of the judicial magistrate first class of Kantabanjhi on Monday and was granted bail by virtue of a high court order. Singhdeo was charged with using obscene language and manhandling the executive engineer, rural water supply and sanitation of Balangir, Manohar Naik.
