Bhubaneswar, April 3: Groovy beats and the hottest dance moves of the season will rock the capital at the upcoming DJ Nite organised by a young team of music lovers better known as Sensations Beat. The event will feature Mumbai-based female disc jockey Paroma.

Young engineering students Kamal Prasad Sahoo and Santosh Mohapatra, the brains behind the event, along with five other friends have taken the initiative to make youngsters in the city shake a leg to some the most sensational hits of recent times.

“As the culture of Bhubaneswar is becoming more like that of a metro city, dance parties are attracting a huge number of young music lovers. And our DJ Nite will offer the best ambience and music for youngsters to enjoy to the fullest,” said Santosh, a DJ, better known as DJ Napsterz.

“In the past, a few musical nights involving well-known DJs were hosted in the city and the turnout was huge. But it has been quite some time that the youngsters here have got a chance to show off their footwork on the floor. This prompted our group to come up with the event,” he said.

A number of local talents will also present their skills in DJ-ing at the event, said the organisers.

However, the main attraction of the event will be DJ Paroma. The 24-year-old is one of the most popular among the handful of female DJs in the country.

“From being part of a cabin crew for an airline at 18 to one of the most popular DJs in her 20s, Paroma is a bundle of energy. She has an expertise in playing all genres of music but hip-hop is her expertise and Bhubaneswar youth love it. The crowd will include college goers, corporate employees and disco lovers,” said Kamal.

The event, organised in association with The Telegraph, will be held on April 14 at Hotel Sandy’s Tower in the city. College students have already started collecting passes, which are limited in number.

“I am excited about the event since my girlfriend loves to dance and this is the perfect forum to enjoy. We are looking forward to DJ Paroma’s music as well as the city based DJs who will feature at the event,” said Sanjit, a business administration student.
