Bhubaneswar, July 18: The entrance tests for admission into various post-graduation courses offered by the Utkal University here began today and would continue till July 23.
The interview for executive MBA would be conducted on July 28 and 29.
Tests for women studies, political science, and statistics were conducted today as the university campus was teeming with the applicants. “I have done well in the entrance test and hope to get qualified,” said Artatrana Ketaki, who appeared for the political science written test.
The entrance test for public administration, economics and sociology will be held on July 19 followed by master in tourism and heritage management (MTHM), ancient Indian history, culture and archaeology (AIHCA), history, philosophy, physics and zoology on July 20.
Similarly, written tests for personnel management and industrial relations (PMIR), botany, Sanskrit, psychology and Oriya would be done on July 21. The entrance test for commerce, library and information science, environment science, geology, geography and mathematics would be conducted on July 22. Tests for anthropology, chemistry, development journalism and electronic communication (DJEC) would be held on July 23.
This year, nearly 8,000 application forms have been submitted for various courses at Utkal. “As compared to the last year’s records, 17 out of 50 departments have registered an increase in sale of application forms this time which shows the students’ interest to study at Utkal University,” said P.K. Sarkar, chairman of PG council. He said the admission as per the first selection merit list would be done on August 2 and all admissions for post-graduation courses would be over by August 6.
