Bhubaneswar: The state government has reportedly sanctioned Rs 1 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the treatment of the conjoined twins from Phiringia of Kandhamal district. The twins are at present undergoing various tests at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.   

Dutee Chand

Bhubaneswar: Sprinter Dutee Chand can now take part in all major championships for another two months as the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) has suspended International Association of Athletic Federation (IAAF) regulation for hyperandrogenism in female athletes till September. The CAS on Saturday suspended the IAAF regulation and asked the apex athletics body to gather scientific evidence that high levels of hyper androgen in female athletes boost their performance and give them an edge over others. The court has given the IAAF two months time.

Bandh

Bhubaneswar: Normal life was thrown out of gear at various parts of Aska in Ganjam district as lawyers observed a dawn-to-dusk bandh demanding sub-division status to the town. The lawyers blocked roads by burning tyres at Badanadi and Rusikulya bridges on the National Highway- 59. Commuters had tough time as traffic came to a standstill.

Utkal campus

Bhubaneswar: Utkal University’s  second campus will shortly become a reality after the government identified land for the project in Jajpur. Nearly, 66.3 acre in Siha panchayat, 12km from Chandikhol has been provided to higher education department for the project also known as a rural campus of the varsity.
