Berhampur, March 4: The Ganjam district administration and police today seized two mobile phones and about 100 pouches of banned gutka from Bhanja Nagar sub-jail, about 80km from here.
“We seized the mobile phones and other materials from inside the jail during a raid in the early morning today,” said inspector in charge of Bhanja Nagar police station Ajay Barik.
Bhanja Nagar sub-collector Sudhanshu Mohan Samal also accompanied the raid team.
Bhanja Nagar sub-jail was in news last month when a prisoner, Kalia Swain, was shot dead by two other inmates on the jail premises on February 12.
