Cops grill duo

Bhubaneswar: Police on Saturday recorded statements of two friends of the murdered engineering student at the centre of a sex scandal allegedly involving mayor Ananta Narayan Jena. The duo had claimed the controversial tape was linked to the student’s death. The cops also received the deceased’s viscera report. The police said they were analysing the report to ascertain the exact cause of death.

Bhubaneswar: The principal of Kamala Nehru Women’s College on Saturday lodged a complaint with Capital Police Station where he alleged that some outsiders were harassing college students. The college authorities also alleged that one of them tried to abduct a student on Saturday and demanded police action against the miscreants.

Robbers held

Cuttack: Police on Saturday arrested four members of an inter-state truck robbers’ gang from Chandikhol and seized chrome worth Rs 12 lakh, fake number plates and driving licenses from their possession.
