Posco meet 

Bhubaneswar: Steel and mines minister Prafulla Kumar Mallick on Wednesday said that another round of meeting would be held in New Delhi at the level of prime minister or finance minister to decide the future of Odisha’s Posco project. He said that Tuesday's meeting, convened by the Union cabinet secretary and attended by the state’s chief secretary and the representatives of Posco, remained inconclusive. 

Trader killed

Berhampur: A 45-year-old liquor trader was killed by some unidentified criminals at Aska in Ganjam, police said on Wednesday. The assailants shot and attacked the victim with sharp weapons, who was identified as Ganesh Bisoi of Kotinada near Aska, when he was returning home on a motorcycle, Ganjam police chief Narsingh Bhol said.

Bank robbery 

Sundargarh: Unidentified criminals decamped with nearly Rs 2.50 lakh from State Bank of India's Ulsurei branch in Sundargarh on Wednesday. Around 10 armed robbers hurled bombs inside the bank before escaping with the money. Four employees of the bank were injured in the attack. 

Assault cuffs

Baripada: Five persons, accused in the assault of a 45-year-old woman for allegedly practising witchcraft were sent to jail. 

Highways

Bhubaneswar: Around 900 kilometres of national highway would be constructed at a cost of Rs 3,555 crore. The state government would suggest to the Centre to take up the 70 km long  Chhatrapur-Satapada Road and Konark-Astarang-Nuagaon-Paradip-Basudevpur-Chandipur-Chandaneswar-Digha Road as a national highway under the Bharatmala project. 

Pickpockets

Balasore: Railway police arrested three pickpockets from the East Coast Express. The accused are B.K. Anthony, 30, Sonu Rao, 30, and Ratan Singh, 28.

Airlines

Bhubaneswar: Vistara Airlines will operate daily flights on the Delhi-Bhubaneswar-Delhi route from October 1. The introduction of Bhubaneswar, Vistara's third destination in the east, coincides with the airline's next phase of expansion. 

Sports boost

Cuttack: The Odisha Olympic Association has decided to add 17 new districts of the state along with affiliating 
two state sports associations.
