Barabati ready to host T20 match

Cuttack, Oct. 10: Barabati Stadium here will host 44,430 cricket fans during the India-West Indies T20 match on October 22.

Odisha Cricket Association secretary Ashirbad Behera today said 20,350 tickets would be up for sale, while its affiliated bodies will get 12,640 tickets. The number of complimentary passes will stand at 11,440. The ticket sale will start on October 19 and continue till 21. The affiliated bodies will receive their quota of tickets on October 16 and 17.

Ticket prices for the first T20 match in Cuttack have been brought down (except for gallery tickets) in comparison to tickets for the ODI match and have been priced at Rs 6,000, Rs 4,000, Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000, Rs 1,500, Rs 500, Rs 400 and Rs 200. Tickets for the ODI were priced at Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000, Rs 4,000, Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000, Rs 500, Rs 400 and Rs 200.

Online sale of 7,000 tickets of various denominations will also be facilitated. The online sale began on October 5 and will continue till October 17.

Behera said the association had decided to insure the entire match for Rs 20 crore with public liability insurance (spectators and visitors) and special contingency insurance having a share of Rs 7 crore and Rs 5 crore, respectively.

A three-tier security system, along with a network of 68 closed-circuit television cameras, will ensure foolproof safety.

“The cameras will be installed at the entrance to the stadium, entry to the dressing rooms and all the stands as part of the monitoring system by the Cuttack deputy commissioner of police from the central control room,” Behera said. The cricket body has entrusted entire ticketing of the T20 match to Hyderabad-based Ticketgenie Solutions Pvt Ltd, with inclusion of holograms, bar code and other security features.
