Get together and get dressed: You definitely have to look your best on the last day of the year. Ask your friends to come over early, and bring their ‘special’ clothes along. Once all of you are together, help each other dress. From face packs to manicures to DIY hairstyles off YouTube videos, go the whole hog and pamper each other.

Photo booth: The next step to dressing up and looking pretty is to click some RAD pictures. Make a corner of your room the ‘photo-zone’, set up a camera with a timer, keep some fun props like a feather boa and quirky hats at hand, strike your best pose and go ‘click’!

Neon light party: Cover the lights in your room with red and yellow Cellophane paper or ask daddy dear to install a neon light beforehand. Use neon paint to draw on each others’ faces, put on your favourite track and you have a nightclub ready in your own room! P.S — Slip on a few glow-in-the-dark wristbands.

Drinking games: While alcohol is a no-no, you can always involve shakes or jaljeera over Truth or Dare. A word of caution though — if any of you feel sick, stop right there!

Karaoke: There’s nothing better than singing away the last day of the year. YouTube has an extensive list of karaoke tunes ready for you. Use a hairbrush as a mic and don’t forget to record everyone’s (terrible) attempts at singing!

Ping! Stick envelopes on a wall with everyone’s names on them and hand out small notepads to your girlfriends as they enter. All they have to do is write heartfelt notes for each person present and slip it into the respective envelopes. Read them when the clock strikes midnight. Nothing feels more special than reading notes from your BFFs the first thing in the New Year!

Sleepy time: While sleeping is usually not a part of a slumber party, if you actually intend doing it, spend some time customising eye masks. Do them up with ribbons or glitter; they are perfect keepsakes from the party.

Movies: Once you’ve welcomed 2015, it’s time to snuggle into your pyjamas and settle in for a movie. While we leave the choice of the movie and snacks to you, what we recommend is setting up a hot chocolate counter in your kitchen where everyone can customise her own drink (ask an adult to heat the milk, please!). We are thinking white chocolate sauce, sticks of cinnamon, chocolate chips, whipped cream… let your imagination run wild and come up with drinks worthy for Instagram. #hotstuff

The morning after: Hand out new toothbrushes to each friend the morning after with his/ her name tag. They will love it and you are sure to be crowned the perfect party hostess!
