Sheila, Sheila, Sheila,” chanted the crowd for a whole minute before Sunidhi Chauhan took the stage singing Dhoom machale at the St. Xavier’s College grounds for Beyond Barriers XV, the annual fund-raiser organised by the St. Xavier’s College Calcutta Alumni Association, in association with The Telegraph, on January 25. Looking casual chic in a red top, ripped pants and boots, Sunidhi rocked the landmark campus with Dilliwali girlfriend, Beedi jalaile, Halkat jawani and, yes, Sheila ki jawani.
After the Bollywood blast, it was the turn of two DJ acts — DJ Zaeden from India and DJs Dzeko and Torres from Canada — to keep the crowd dancing for Sunburn Campus. “Sunburn is one of the best festival in India. EDM should be promoted even more. Hats off to the crowd! They were full of energy. It was great performing tonight,” said DJ Zaeden.
“I attended a lovely programme today. This is one of the best festivals in Calcutta and St. Xavier’s College is one of the best colleges in India,” said minister Sadhan Pande, chief guest for the evening.
