It’s my style statement
I have to carry my sling bag with me. Always. Wherever I go. I have at least five-six varieties and my collection grows every month. I sling the bag across my shoulders and it’s very convenient. I drive with the bag around me; I carry it to parties and award functions. Recently, I was in Bosnia to receive an award for my film Chaturanga and I went up on stage with my bag! Later, my friends teased me that my bag and I were inseparable! Well, I don’t mind that because it’s quite a style statement.
Why i like a sling bag
It contains all my important possessions. And it’s very handy. Earlier I used to lug a huge bag around with books in it. But age is catching up and I can’t do that anymore. I thought of an alternative, something into which I can squeeze all my belongings, something that won’t be heavy. That’s how I discovered the sling bag. It looks good and goes with all kinds of clothes. I don’t need to take it off. Now it’s like a part of my body!
Six things you will find in my bag
-
- A book.

- My appointment diary.
- My wallet.
- My glasses.
shop stops
I am not brand-conscious and I don’t own a Gucci or a Prada. I pick up my bags from random shops. I go for natural shades so that I can carry them with all kinds of clothes.... I shop from Paris and London. Paris has wonderful sling bags. I once bought a white bag from Paris and I loved it so much that I wanted to have another. On my next trip, I looked for a similar bag but couldn’t fine any. But I found a very stylish piece instead.
My bags are not very expensive. The one I got from Paris is for 20 Euros, which comes to around Rs 1,200. A bag has to have a pocket inside and outside. That’s criterion number one for me to pick up a bag.
