Andor
Diney+ Hotstar dropped the trailer of the newest Star Wars spin-off series, Andor, on Tuesday. The series is a prequel to Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: Rogue and will centre around Cassian Andor played by Narcos Mexico’s Diego Luna.
The official Twitter handle of Star Wars has also revealed the first poster of the upcoming series along with the release date, and wrote: “Experience the three-episode premiere of #Andor, a Star Wars Original Series, streaming only on @DisneyPlus September 21.”
Set five years before the events of Rogue One, the new series will follow the adventures of the titular hero, rebel and spy during the formative years of the Rebellion. It will explore tales of espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.
The series will also feature Star Wars veteran, Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma and Alan Tudyk as Cassian’s sidekick K-2SO. The additional cast also includes franchise newcomers Denise Gough, Stellan Skarsgård, Kyle Soller and Adria Arjona.
The first three episodes of Andor will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on September 21.
Devotion
Sony Pictures Entertainment has released the official trailer of their aerial war epic, Devotion, the forthcoming Korean war film. The movie stars Jonathan Majors of Loki and Set it Up’s Glen Powell in a story based on true events.
Devotion is based on Adam Makos’ book of the same name. It also stars Joe Jonas as Marty Goode, Christina Jackson as Daisy Brown, and Thomas Sadoski as Dick Cevoli.
The official synopsis read: “The film tells the harrowing true story of two elite US Navy fighter pilots during the Korean War. Their heroic sacrifices would ultimately make them the Navy’s most
celebrated wingmen.”
The trailer highlights the friendship and heroism of two naval aviators, Jesse Brown (Majors) and Tom Hudner (Powell), who made history in America’s forgotten war. The trailer will give you a major Top Gun vibe.
Devotion will be released in theatres on November 23.
Mike
Sony Music South released the trailer of Bollywood actor John Abraham’s JA Entertainment’s first Malayalam film, Mike. John Abraham launched the trailer via an Instagram post and caption it: “Trailer Out now !!! Mike Releasing on 19th August 2022 in Cinemas. #Mike.”
The trailer gives us an idea about the film’s characters. While Sara aka Mike (Anaswara) is a tomboy and lives life as per her rules, Antony (Ranjith Sajeev), has a troubled past.
Helmed by debutant director Vishnu Sivaprasad, the music of the film is composed by state award-winning music director Hesham Abdul Wahab.
Thanneer Mathan Dinangal and Super Sharanya star Anaswara Rajan and debutant Ranjith Sajeev are playing the lead in Mike.
Mike will hit the theatres on August 19.
