Prasthaanam, Sanjay Dutt’s next, does not just bring the actor together with Manisha Koirala onscreen, but also Jackie Shroff, reuniting all three after their 1999 release Kartoos.

The film is the Hindi remake of the 2010 Telugu hit of the same name.

While Sanjay and Manisha will play a married couple in the film, Jackie will have a pivotal role, sources close to the production said.

Prasthaanam also marks the onscreen comeback of Jackie and Sanjay after Eklavya in 2007.

Director Deva Katta, who directed the Telugu film too, said: “Prasthaanam is a subject which is close to my heart and with Jackie sir joining the team, it’s a dream come true for me to be able to work with such a powerful cast. I have always looked up to them and its a great opportunity to be able to direct them.”

When asked about their roles, Deva Katta said: “Wait and watch who is playing which character. I don’t want to speak much about the film at this point now.”

The Kartoos trio will shoot together in Lucknow on Thursday. The film — from the Sanjay Dutt Productions stable — had gone on the floors last Friday.

It also stars Ali Fazal, Amyra Dastur, Chukey Pandey and Satyajeet Dubey.
