Pamela Singh Bhutoria was on “top of the world” when we called her, and understandably so. For a TVS commercial that’s currently on air, her co-star is none other than Amitabh Bachchan! What made it extra special? The fact that the ad was released on her birthday (July 15).

“I have shared the stage with Amitabh Bachchan for Pro Kabaddi (where Abhishek Bachchan owns a team) before. When he walked in and he said ‘namaskar’, I started getting nervous!” laughed Pamela who plays Bachchan’s daughter in the TV commercial where he is the discerning buyer. The ad was directed by Dadu of Q.E.D. and shot by DoP Avik Mukhopadhyay at Yash Raj Studios in end-May.

“I did not want to blink. That man is extraordinary… his sense of humour, he’s charming, disciplined. He gave my cue… who does it?! I am a nobody!” said Pamela. The superstar is “quite the teenager”, too, observed Pamela. “He would always joke,” she recalled. And, with so many Bengalis on the set, Bachchan peppered his conversation with a bit of Bangla too.  

If his “Ekbar line kar ley” moment has stayed with Pamela, she wanted time to stand still when he hugged her in a scene. “There were five-six takes. I was like I wish… it just goes on and on,” laughed Pamela, who stars in Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3 (releasing on July 27).
