To become a successful musician you not only need talent, looks and the right attitude, you also need spunk. And Little Mix defines spunk. Formed on the X-Factor UK show in 2011, this four-member girl group is definitely the next big thing in the music circuit.
The girls
Like never before. All four of them have totally different personalities and it’s beautiful how they gel with each other and the fans. Perrie is like the funniest girl ever and that’s one reason why she is just amazing. Jade is the one who’d protect her girls and stands up for the band and is always there for the rest. Jesy is someone who you’d like very easily. She’s got a great sense of humour. And Leigh-Anne definitely seems to be the sensible one. *winks*
Their music and themes
The Little Mix music is amazing. Their music is so groovy and it makes you want to sing along! The girls all have incredible voices, and the perfect synchronisation of the harmonies along with beatboxing and a cappella is what makes it their kind of music.
Their songs usually focus on important issues like empowering girls. Despite being an all-girl group, their lyrics are rarely the ‘he’s the guy for me; he likes that girl I hate’ kind — not at all stereotypical boy-related lyrics. Little Mix lyrics are definitely an inspiration.
Style statement
They are all fashionistas with an incredible style sense. Suspenders, crop tops, skirts –– LM have done it all and with panache. From Perrie’s pink hair to Jade’s Converse, Jesy’s hairdo to Leigh-Anne’s bling jewellery, whatever Little Mix sports is absolutely what we want to wear.
Identity crisis
“Isn’t it Zayn Malik’s fiancee’s/girlfriend’s band?” Well, it is not. It’s high time we stopped referring to Little Mix as ‘Zayn Malik’s girl’s’ band. Zayn and Perrie were just a coincidence. It’s really annoying how this completely different group is connected with One Direction. 1D has nothing to do with the rising popularity of these girls.
My friend Peden T. Lama adores this band too and says, “Little Mix is famous because of its fans, and because the girls are very real. They’ve got a totally different thing about them and that adds to their success.”
These are just a few reasons why I love Little Mix. They are so cool and different.
