
Radhika Apte, who is one of the leads in the Lydia Dean Pilcher-directed untitled female-driven World War II spy drama, has been signed by United Talent Agency, one of the biggest talent agencies in the world. The 32-year-old actress, who has just wrapped filming Michael Winterbottom’s feature The Wedding Guest, opposite Dev Patel, shared the news on Instagram. Apart from her upcoming Hollywood films, Apte will be seen in two Netflix projects — the original series Sacred Games opposite Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and the miniseries Ghoul.

Sylvester Stallone is on board to reprise his role of the action character John Rambo in Rambo V. The fifth instalment in the 36-year franchise will be brought to Cannes by Millennium Media, Screen Daily reported. In the film, Stallone’s Rambo will be seen living on a ranch in Arizona, deeply troubled and wrestling with post traumatic stress disorder as he picks up casual work wherever he can. When long-time family friend and estate manager Maria informs the former soldier that her granddaughter has gone missing after crossing into Mexico for a party, he sets off with her to find the youngster.

Actors Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are returning for the third instalment of Bill & Ted after around 27 years. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the much talked about Bill & Ted Face the Music is in works with Dean Parisot as director. Reeves and Winter, reprising their roles as Ted “Theodore” Logan and Bill S Preston Esq, respectively, said they are elated to be back.

Ryan Coogler, the director of Creed and Fruitvale Salvation, said he is open to the idea of making a Black Panther spin-off focussing on the women characters. At the Cannes Film Festival, Coogler was asked if he would ever make such a film. “Oh man. That would be amazing if the opportunity came up. They did it in the comic-book version,” he replied, according to Variety. Black Panther, which was released earlier this year, was especially praised its strong women characters such as Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and Shuri (Letitia Wright). “There’s a whole section of the film where T’Challa is out of the movie and you’re just following the women. That’s one of my favourite parts of the movie when I watched it, and I didn’t expect that,” Coogler said.

Billy Crudup has been roped in to star opposite Julianne Moore in the American remake of After The Wedding. The 49-year-old actor will be playing Oscar, the loving husband to Moore’s Theresa, Deadline reported. The new film follows the director of an Indian orphanage on the verge of bankruptcy, who discovers that her organisation is in contention to receive a large charitable donation from a wealthy American businesswoman, forcing her to travel to New York City, where she is confronted by a past she tried to forget.

Burnt actor Bradley Cooper will star and direct the biographical film on iconic composer Leonard Bernstein. This is the second project which will be based on the life of Bernstein as actor Jake Gyllenhaal is also going the portray the composer in the film The American. Bernstein rose to fame after he was tasked with conducting the New York Philharmonic at the age of 25. His career skyrocketed when he wrote and composed the music for the iconic film West Side Story.
