Freeze frame: Kate Winslet, Ben Whishaw
Oscar winners Kate Winslet and Diane Keaton have joined Mia Wasikowska for Roger Mitchell’s Blackbird, reported Variety. The film, from a script by Christian Trope, is an official remake of Danish director Bille August’s 2014 film Silent Heart. Keaton, 72, will play Lily, a terminally ill mother bringing her family together before committing suicide. Winslet, 42, and Wasikowska, 28, will portray her daughters. August’s film featured Ghita Nørby, Morten Grunwald, Paprika Steen, and Jens Albinus in pivotal roles.
English actor Ben Whishaw, who voices Peruvian bear Paddington, says he wants more films in the live-action franchise. Paddington 2, which released earlier this year, has been termed as one of the best live-action movies of 2018 by critics and audiences across the globe. “I absolutely love doing Paddington. It takes a lot of time, and each time I’ve done it, it’s taken the better part of a year. But… I would love to do another one,” Whishaw told Entertainment Weekly. The 37-year-old actor, however, will only return to the duffel-coat-wearing bear, if writer-director Paul King is on board. “I can’t imagine what it would be like without him, so I think it’s really down to whether he wants to or not,” he said.
