She is not Malaika Arora’s kid sister (who is still happy with small-time cricketer Usmaan Afzal). He is not the maker of Don (who is a happily married man). The t2 Jab We Met pair of the week is Amrita Rao and Farhan Saeed!

Even as everyone links Amrita Rao up with Shahid Kapur, she has moved on and found herself a man. Mommy dearest may still be answering her cellphone and guarding on the sets, but it is Pakistani band Jal’s Farhan Saeed who has managed to get up close and personal with Amrita.

It all started when Amrita appeared in the Jal music video Chaltay chaltay, the first single from their new album Boondh — A Drop of Jal.

Jal is the band where singing sensation Atif Aslam started out. Farhan, in fact, replaced Atif as the new voice of Jal and has since been the lead vocals for the group.

Insiders insist that it was love at first sight for Amrita and Farhan. In the video she plays a model/actress who is swept away by the song which all the three members of Jal sing on stage. But it was off stage and off screen where all the real action was taking place.

Video over, Amrita and Farhan have been spotted together in Mumbai restaurants. All too often, in fact. Not for Mommy Rao but for Farhan’s Jal bandmates, who have been complaining that he spends more time in India than in Pakistan these days!

Farhan’s found a solution for that too. Now Amrita will be the showstopper for Jal’s live shows too. Forget her assignments in Bollywood — there are hardly any after My Name is Anthony Gonzalves — Amrita will be performing with Jal live in Lahore and Karachi in the month of May.

Some cross-border romance this. After all, the heart will find a way...
