White Walkers are coming, so what? All we can think of is Jon Snow and Daenerys, or Lord Dany as Jon lovingly calls her, getting it on. “I’m more excited about two fictional characters having sex than I have ever been about my own sex life!” is what a campus team member heard from a friend... and we kind of get that! *sigh*

In other news, Katrina Kaif showed her GoT love on an Insta post dressed, well almost, like a Dothraki. “Can I be in #gameofthrones pleeeeeasseee... #ilovejonsnow #pleasetakemeintheshow #moodyandbroodingismything,” read the caption. And while we detest the idea of having to share Jon with *another* female, we think the King in the North and Kat would make a decent pair!

While the GoT world is lit ATM (at the moment, sillies!), GRRM wore the jester’s cap to show off on a Facebook post. And while that caught our attention, we wish he’d wear his damned writer’s hat for once and get us those damned books already!

In a judgment that is considered to be nothing short of historic, the Supreme Court last week struck down the ‘unconstitutional’ practice of instant triple talaq. We salute the efforts of women who stood up. #WomenForWomen

ELON OF THE FUTURE?

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Inc and SpaceX, faced a googly on Twitter from an Indian. Asked if he was a time traveller who is getting rich by pretending to invent futuristic technologies, the tech-savvy CEO replied, “I can’t hide the truth any more”! The reply has got us all cracking and wishing for some extraterrestrial advice from this time traveller!

THE AMERICAN ECLIPSE AND A GALAXY OF MEMES

The Great American Eclipse, a total solar eclipse, viewed in the United States last week has not just left behind striking astronomical pictures but also a galaxy of memes, led by Donald Trump, of course! Funnymen in the country took to the internet expressing how they wish they had a torrent link to download the eclipse, similar to us downloading anything and everything American! Meanwhile, we are more than eager to see the moon photobomb the sun back here in India.

We can’t wait to get our hands on tickets for the new action movie The Hitman’s Bodyguard, with Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson in the lead. Racing cars, serious action sequences mixed with humour, what’s not to love? Also, Warner Brothers and DC have already started working on a new film which deals with the origin of the iconic Batman villain, The Joker. Legends like Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger have portrayed the role in previous movies, and we wonder if Jared Leto, who was The Joker in Suicide Squad, will reprise his role.

THE REUNION 

Instagram is flooded with pictures of the Barcelona team reuniting with former mates and now PSG’s Dani Alves and Neymar. It was however the MSN frame — Messi, Suarez, Neymar — that made Barca fans reach for the box of tissues, sending chills down the spine of defenders around the globe at the same time! 

In other news, Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney announced his retirement from international football and we are heartbroken. At least we’ll still get to see him in the Everton blue this season. 

DOUBLE DELIGHT

We can’t stop thinking about Varun Dhawan after seeing the Judwaa 2 trailer. Why? Because he looks DELICIOUS! Directed by his dad David, the movie has Varun playing a double role — one as Prem and the other as Raja — who are polar opposites, just like in the original starring Salman Khan. The two don’t know each other but get hurt when the other gets hurt. This film also stars Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez, but getting to see two Varuns is why we can’t wait! Yaayyy!!!

FEST FUN!

We all had a ball at the t2 Festopolis over the weekend, at Acropolis! We cheered on our friends and our colleges at the biggest inter-college fest in town.

SHOP TILL YOU DROP

We can’t keep calm because Durga Puja is less than a month away! We have already started shopping and some of us have even ticked off all the boxes in the list of things to buy. From earrings to bangles, shirts to saris, short dresses to long kurtis... we are counting down the days and somehow stopping ourselves from wearing these before Panchami! 
We are thrilled to have Nicki Minaj join hands with M.A.C. cosmetics for a lipstick collaboration. The two new shades are Nude and The Pinkprint, coming out this September! We wish we could flaunt it this Puja but if only if we could afford it! *sigh*
