Four-month-old Buddha Lounge sure has grown on the party people in a hurry. The 2,200sq ft lounge has three zones — Hookah Lounge, VIP Lounge and the common area (dance floor and bar counter). The Hookah Lounge is where you unwind after a day’s work. Beige leather sofas, low tables, mirrors and lamps dress up the den. Glass door and walls enable you to see the dance floor and the DJ’s console. The music is just how you want it — not too loud, not too soft! The puff-happy can pick from Paan Rasna, Grape, Peach and Strawberry hookah.

With gold-and-maroon wall art, hanging metallic diyas, wooden flooring and a silver Buddha bust, the VIP Lounge has a royal touch. The dance floor and the VIP Lounge are connected by a flight of glass stairs. “Our guests have access to all areas but this section is reserved for special VIP guests,” said Amitesh Munshi, assistant manager of Buddha Lounge.

You can’t make out much from this picture but the entrance to the lounge is one of the most interesting corners. In sync with the name and theme of Buddha Lounge, the door and ceiling lights of the dance floor area have been adorned with scripts in Pali!

The common sitting area is decorated with giant metallic dragon faces jutting out from the walls. “In many Buddhist monasteries, we often see dragons so to bring a touch of that, we have the dragon heads in the dance floor area,” explained Santanu Ghosh, manager of Buddha Lounge.
