Irrfan Khan, known for movies like Maqbool, Haider, Paan Singh Tomar, Life of Pi and The Lunchbox, passed away on April 29, 2020 after suffering from cancer.

Filmmaker Anup Singh, who had directed Irrfan in the films Qissa: The Tale of a Lonely Ghost (2013) and The Song of the Scorpions, also remembered the actor on his birth anniversary.

“The look, the smile, the hand on the shoulder, the taste of the cake, the scent of the desert and the cheer of the team remain. The force of memory does help to accept and reconcile oneself with the grief,” Anup wrote on Instagram.

The Song of the Scorpions, which hit the screens last year, was Irrfan Khan’s last theatrical release.

Bollywood celebrities Tillotama Shome, Isha Talwar, Kapil Sharma, Prateik Babbar dropped red heart emojis in the comment section of Babil’s post.
