Alia Bhatt took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes video of her getting the stunning Rani Chatterjee look from Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani, giving fans a chance to try out the look for themselves.
In the film co-starring Ranveer Singh, Alia, who plays the TV news anchor Rani Chatterjee, is seen sporting saris with bralette-style blouses, with her hair flowing loose or tied into a bun.
The video features a step-by-step process of Bollywood make-up artist Mickey Contractor doing Alia’s makeup. “Becoming RANI. P.S. Thank you for all the love for our Prem Kahaani,” Alia wrote alongside her post on Tuesday.
Mickey starts by prepping Alia’s face through the regular cleansing and moisturising process before dabbing some concealer and foundation for a smooth finish and setting it with translucent powder.
He gives her soft smokey eyes with mascara, faux lashes and a hint of eye shadow. After a few strokes of blush and highlighter on the cheeks, Alia puts on a glossy lip balm before a nude pink lipstick and wears a black bindi. Hairstylist Flavien Heldt curls her hair to give it a wavy beach vibe.
In keeping with the minimal makeup, Alia goes for a simple silver nose pin, a statement silver ring and dual-tone danglers. Going with her name from the film, Alia drapes a rani pink chiffon sari with a pink velvet bralette blouse.
The video has drawn a fun comment from Alia’s co-star Ranveer Singh who, staying true to his character from the film, wrote in Rocky-style English: “hi Rani! It’s nice look dear”.
Alia will next be seen in the Netflix thriller Heart of Stone, alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.
