Julie dives deep into themes of gender and power, presenting a nuanced portrayal of a woman fighting to establish herself in a world tainted by corruption. Hailing from a red-light district, she joins mainstream politics but has to face stigma and prejudice due to her past.

Aritra Sen shared insights into Julie’s character, describing her as a woman with remarkable singing talent who is determined to break free from her past and make her mark in politics. “As Julie began to take shape, Paoli was the first person I envisioned for this role. Following our previous collaboration, I’m thrilled to team up with her once again,” he said.

Apart from Paoli, Julie features Gourab Chatterjee as a dedicated CBI officer while Kaushik Sen portrays a powerful politician. Shruti Das takes on the role of the politician’s daughter. Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee will also play a key role in the series.

Paoli and Aritra previously worked together for the ZEE5 series Kaali. Sen’s last big screen release was Ghore Pherar Gaan (2023) featuring Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Ishaa Saha. Paoli was last seen in Kamaleshwar Mukherjee’s Ektu Sore Bosun (2023).
