Bettiah: A Bhojpuri singer has filed an FIR with the Dhaka police station in East Champaran, alleging he received a threat for composing a song on RJD chief Lalu Yadav's incarceration in fodder scam cases.

Ajay Anand a.k.a Paltuwa, who said he had uploaded the song, Chara ghotala me pakraiyele, Bihar kangal banayi diyo on YouTube, claimed he got the threat call on February 5.

"I am Babal, a mafia don from Munger. You will have to pay a price for making a song on Lalu ji," Ajay quoted the caller as saying.

"Considering a threat to my life, police protection may please be provided," Ajay, who has 18 Bhojpuri albums to his name, said in the FIR.

According to Dhaka police station officer-in-charge Arjun Kumar, the FIR was lodged on February 10.

"We are waiting for call detail report (CDR) and name of the SIM owner for the future course of action," said Arjun.

Speaking over cellphone from an undisclosed location, Ajay said he had taken down the song from YouTube and gone into hiding.
