Stolen truck leads to illegal factory

Chhapra, Feb. 9: Saran police last night recovered the truck that was stolen from Katehribag mohalla under Chhapra town police station in Saran district on February 4.

The truck was loaded with clothes and gulaal worth Rs 30 lakh. Deputy superintendent of police Keshav Prasad said the truck and all the items were recovered from Mirganj and Gopalganj in Gopalganj district last night.

He added that some items were recovered from two godowns in Mirganj and some were recovered from a building in Gopalganj town.

Prasad said the godowns belong to a businessman, Rajesh Gupta, who is absconding and the building belonged to one Murari Prasad.

The deputy superintendent of police said everything has been recovered within 36 hours and the culprits have been identified.

Around six people, one of them under the guise of district transport officer, on February 4, took the truck saying that the truck would be inspected. Since then the truck went missing.

Prasad added that during the raid in Mirganj, the police also unearthed an illegal dalda factory.
