Patna, Oct. 5: The technical bid for the tender to select the project management consultant to implement the smart city project in Patna will be opened on Monday.
Within a week from October 9, the financial bid for the tender will be opened, said Patna municipal commissioner Abhishek Singh.
Sources said 25 companies, including Louis Berger, IL&FS Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd, Deloitte India, and Ernst & Young, have shown interest in the technical bid.
'The project management consultant will be accountable for all projects under the smart city mission and will function under the special purpose vehicle,' said Singh. 'The selected firm will be in charge of making the estimates for different projects related to the mission. The consultant has to carry out the preliminary day-to-day work of documentation and further uploading it, create the detailed project report and design, float tenders to select firms for the various work under the smart city mission among other responsibilities. The implementation and monitoring will also have to be looked after, besides providing the PMC time-to-time progress reports.'
The special purpose vehicle is in a form of a city advisory forum comprising stakeholders for rendering support at all stages of the planning and implementation of the smart city, added Singh.
Patna divisional commissioner Anand Kishor is the chairman of the special purpose vehicle while Singh is the managing director. The special purpose vehicle will also have five directors nominated by the central and state government and two other independent directors.
