RJD MLCs Subodh Kumar, Ranvijay Kumar Singh, Dilip Rai, Mohammad Quamar Alam and Radha Charan Shah were marshalled out of the Legislative Council in the post-lunch session for ignoring vice-chairman Haroon Rashid's repeated requests to go back to their respective seats.
The five MLCs had trooped to the Well of the House. Subodh was standing virtually in front of the treasury benches, shouting anti-government slogans and also using "unparliamentary language" against deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi. Rabri Devi and Sanjay Prasad, the two other MLCs of the party, were not present in the House then.
The issue of these members' conduct has been referred to the House's ethics committee, which is headed by JDU's P.K. Shahi, for making recommendations.
According to the conduct of business rules, the committee has the power to even recommend the termination of membership of any member and it's the chairman discretion to take the final call on the committee's recommendations.
