Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Patna, on Monday held a presentation to make college students aware of the monetary policy it launched recently.

Around 150 college students and research scholars, besides academics from various premier institutes like Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Patna, Central University of Bihar (CUB), Chandragupta Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) and other colleges affiliated to Patna and Magadh universities, attended the programme held on the bank premises.

P.K. Jena, regional director, RBI, Patna, said: “It’s crucial for everybody to understand the monetary policy as it affects, directly or indirectly, each and every individual in the country.”

He added that keeping in mind the difficult economic situation both at the domestic- and global-level, the monetary policy formulation has become a complex exercise for the RBI because it had to strike a balance between various objectives.
